Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Do players have to attend Hague High School or Hague Elementary to play in HMF?
No! Anyone from Hague and surrounding area can sign up for a program in HMF. We operate the same as Hague minor soccer, softball and hockey would. If you attend a different school or are home schooled, you are still eligible to register.

What does my player need for equipment in the tackle programs?
Players fees cover the use of a certified helmet, shoulder pads, jersey, pants (pads included in pants) and mouth guards. Outside of what is provided by HMF your athlete will need athletic clothing for underneath equipment, gloves and cleats. Gloves are optional for football although they are popular.

What type of cleats are needed for football?
The only stipulation for cleats is that they have no medal studs. Many soccer and ball cleats will work just fine for football! Purchasing football cleats is up to the player and their parent/guardians.

I am intersetd in coaching, who do I contact?
Potential coaches can register through the registration link, free of charge. Leave your name, number, previous experience (all sports) and we'll be in contact with you!

I am interested in coaching but unsure about the time commitment. What should I expect?
The grades 7-8 tackle program will have a minimum of 3 days a week, 2 practices and 1 game. The first week of our season is just 3 practices to get ready for our first game. Practices will be in the evenings with a time set by the coach so it is accessible for all families. Coaches can also adjust the days in which the team practices to help alleviate scheduling conflicts.

As a coach, what type of materials will I be provided with for the season? Do I have to make up a playbook or practice plans?
All coaches and teams will be provided with practice plans, drills, and playbooks to use. These can be followed exactly or coaches can use their own knowledge to expand and adjust. The idea for HMF is that coaches aren't burdened by the extra time committment and they can feel comfortable coaching without worrying about the odds and ends.

My son/daughter is unsure about playing and doesn't know anything about football. Is there a place for them to still play?
Absolutely! All HMF programs are geared towards teaching the game of football. All levels of players are welcome to play, regardless of prior experience. If you are unsure about the game but want to try, this is the right place!
